We’re a small worker-run press whose members balance our work for the press between other full-time jobs, freelance design, writing, and research, and teaching schedules—as well as our involvements in political movement life. We each bring our own experiences to publishing, our movements, and the U.S. book and media landscape. The job comes with all the virtues of being part of a self-organized collective. As our team works in-person and remotely, we all help maintain a sense of belonging and good relations through a healthy, respectful, and dignified working environment. We have regular phone/video meetings almost weekly and try to schedule in-person meetings a few times a year as well. Common Notions has office space in the Interference Archive in Brooklyn as well as at our sister bookstore, Making Worlds in Philadelphia.
If you are passionate about the written word and radical change and are interested in bringing your skills and talent to the Common Notions team to help bring the vibrant and inspiring ideas of our authors to people around the world, we’d love to hear from you.
